18th Large Louis XV Console in Natural Oak Wood

Imposing Louis XV console in oak with Rance marble top. Period first half of the 18th century.

This rare and magnificent console is made of oak wood, richly carved with a profusion of vine branches and bunches of grapes which wrap around the arched legs joined by a crosspiece until culminating on the heads of smiling putti which , on both sides, support the marble top. The opulence of the sculpture takes your breath away; the sculptural quality, the difficulty and the richness of the carving are reminiscent of the beautiful consoles created by Jean-Bernard-Honoré Turreau.
The Rance marble top completes this little masterpiece.
