Elegant and rare clock in gilded bronze and patinated bronze.
Representing a young woman seated on an armchair with winged sphinx armrests, having a dog and a cat around her, and teaching the game of cup and ball to a young boy perched on a cushioned stool.
Movement inscribed in an octagonal base decorated in relief with ewers, goats and thyrsos, mounted on lion’s feet. Against a black marble base underlined by four spinning top feet.
Rich ornamentation in gilded bronze. Superb quality of bronze carving and gilding. Original glossy and matte mercury gilding in excellent condition.
White enamel dial with Roman numerals signed TOURTAY in Rouen, finely chiseled and gilded hands. Lever escapement, wire suspension with original pendulum. Hour and half-hour striking operation. Delivered in perfect working order revised by our trusted watchmaker.
