White marble ovoid-shaped vase clock adorned with a fountain with two dolphins in gilded and chiseled bronze foliage. Bronze pedestal on a square white marble base. Enamel dial signed Philibert in Paris. Wire suspension.
Louis XVI period.
Excellent condition, original mercury gilding in perfect condition. Complete with pendulum and key.
On request the clock is revised by our trusted watchmaker before delivery.

Model made in 1775 by the bronzier Brécourt.

Antoine-Marie Philibert, watchmaker received master in Paris on December 20, 1776. Referenced at Place du Pont St Michel in 1800, Rue de la Vieille Boucherie in 1810 and Rue de la Barillerie in 1820. He used bronze cases by François Vion and enameled dials by Pierre Bézelle.

Among the comparable copies, let us recall those kept at the Château de la Fasanerie, near the town of Fulda, in Germany, and at the Château de Fontainebleau. A sumptuous copy in Sèvres blue porcelain and gilded bronze, delivered around 1775 for the Louis XVI bathroom in Versailles, was sold at Christie’s London, Exceptional Sale, July 4, 2013, lot 22.
