Rare English verge pocket watch in gilded metal and enamel signed Jas Shearwood London 1789.
On the back an enameled miniature depicting the Virgin and Child, inside a landscape scene. Verge movement with conical chain transmission and calendar with day of the month indication. Porcelain dial with gold hands.
This interesting pocket watch comes from a hereditary division and belonged to a cardinal of Brescia in Italy.
It has been overhauled and is in working order. The key is used to wind it, reset the time and save it.
