Giuseppe Briati (1686-1772) Holy water stoup in golden Murano glass and polychrome Venice 18 century

Rare Murano glass stoup, Venice, 18th century.
Elaborate stoup in blown and gilded glass with polychrome painted with a floral subject. It is an extremely rare model both for its size and for the complicated glass decoration enriched with gilding and polychromies. One could think of the manufacture of Giuseppe Briati (1686-1772) who in the eighteenth century brought a breath of fresh air to the tired glass market by adapting typical models of Bohemian glass to Venetian taste and imagination. So here is the color, the glazes, the gold, the leaves and the festoons.
Excellent state of conservation.
