A very rare unique piece:
Amazing french Napoleon III jardinière with birdcage from the Princes of Condè family, circa 1870.

It consists of a giltwood jardinière decorated with four medallions in vernis Martin depicting scenes taken from the paintings of Fragonard complete with its authentic zinc tank. From the jardinière an arm is extended surmounted by a winged dragon from which hangs a delightful birdcage. Inside the birdcage there is a lovely Paris porcelain parrot.
Under the dragon is visible the emblem of the Princes of Condé family from which the provenance.

It is an extremely decorative piece but also a unique piece in the world.
