19th C. French Champleve Enamel Centerpiece attr. to Barbedienne

0.00

Rare and magnificent centerpiece composed of a basin in precious white onyx in a gilded and gilded bronze mount richly decorated by polychrome champlevé crystals. At the edge of two sitting cherubs and, in the center, the enamel family coat of arms.

As fascinating as its country of origin, ancient Persia, the white onyx is a precious natural stone, from the agate family, already used in antiquity to produce luxury items.

The high quality of the materials used, the fineness of manufacture make this centerpiece attributable to Ferdinand Barbedienne.
