An imposing exceptionally fine and elaborate Regency period French Cartel Clock by Fortin of Paris. The Boulle tortoiseshell marquetry base profusely inlaid with cut and gilded brass. Very beautiful ornamentation of bronzes very finely chiseled in their original gilding. The dial with raised enamel numerals. Signed FORTIN à PARIS and retaining original bracket with an eight day movement. Perfect state of conservation. Case restored by specialized laboratory. Revised movement by specialized watchmaker sounding hours and half-hours
