18th century clock signed “Pellegrino Amorotti Roma”


Imposing and refined 18th century Roman clock signed “Pellegrino Amorotti Roma”.
Architecturally shaped rosewood veneer case with slightly notched sides, molded frames and bipartite feet with curled ends, richly decorated with naturalistic friezes in gilt bronze, upper handle and turned pinnacles on tapered pilasters. Silvered and gilded brass dial with Roman and Arabic numerals. Mechanics with verge escapement, striking at hour and quarters in passing, alarm clock.
The watch is in excellent condition: the gilding is original, the case well preserved; the mechanism is complete and still working (a revision is still recommended, which can also be done before delivery to our trusted watchmaker).

Pellegrino Amorotti was a Roman master watchmaker active in the 18th century. The a produit des pendules prestigieux, dont certaines sont conservées au musée du Palazzo Venezia in Rome.
