16th Century, Jan van Scorel, Entourage, The Holy Family, Dutch Oil on Copper

Oil on copper depicting a Holy Family with two Angels offering a basket of fruits to the Child Jesus. The scene, located in an interior, suggests the perspective capacity of the painter. To the left opens a deep glimpse of a meticulously painted courtyard. The organization of the composition, the painstaking thoroughness and the strong influence of Italian painting make this copper attributable to the entourage of Jan van Scorel (Utrecht, 1495-1562). Jan vans Scorel is a Dutch painter who is credited with introducing the art of the Italian Renaissance to the Netherlands. During his trip to Italy he suffered the influence of Giorgione, Raphael, Michelangelo. The Dutch Pope Adrien VI appointed him curator of Vatican antiquities at the Belvedere, a very prestigious office that Raphael held before him.
In an Italian frame of the 17th century.
The painting has been restored in a specialized laboratory.
